Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Welcome to the Pearl of Africa! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted by your guide and transferred to your lakeside hotel. Entebbe sits on the shores of Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake. Relax and prepare for your gorilla trekking adventure. Evening welcome dinner and briefing with your group.

Day 2:Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After early breakfast, embark on a scenic drive southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Stop at the Equator for photos and demonstrations. Continue through the terraced hills of southwestern Uganda, passing tea plantations and traditional villages. The journey takes 8-9 hours with stops.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

The highlight of your safari! After breakfast and briefing at the park headquarters, begin your trek into the forest with experienced guides and trackers. Trek through dense vegetation, steep hills, and muddy trails searching for a gorilla family. Once found, spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. The trek can take 2-8 hours depending on gorilla location. This is a life-changing experience!

Day 4: Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Morning at leisure to recover from the trek, or optional community walk to meet the Batwa pygmy people who were the original forest inhabitants. After lunch, drive north to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most popular savannah reserve. The park is home to tree-climbing lions, elephants, hippos, and over 600 bird species.

Day 5:Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari

Early morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains searching for lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and various antelope species. Return to lodge for breakfast. Afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a 32km waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel has one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa and attracts elephants, buffalos, and crocodiles. Excellent bird watching opportunities.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth to Lake Mburo

Morning game drive in the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions that rest in fig trees. Continue to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park but rich in biodiversity. Afternoon game drive or optional horseback safari (extra cost). The park is home to zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos, and over 350 bird species including the rare African finfoot.

Day 7:Lake Mburo to Entebbe - Departure

Early morning walking safari in Lake Mburo with an armed ranger, getting close to zebras, giraffes, and antelopes on foot – a unique experience. After breakfast and check-out, drive back to Entebbe with lunch en route. Stop at the Igongo Cultural Centre to learn about Ankole culture. Arrive Entebbe for late afternoon transfer to the airport for your departure flight, carrying unforgettable gorilla memories.
